Eldercare Systems Inc

Eldercare Systems has been providing personalized homecare services to hundreds of elderly and their families since 1988. Eldercare is owned and operated by Ellie Schmittinger and Heather Piner (mother & daughter). Ellie started her geriatric career as a County Aging Director running government programs for over 10 years before starting Eldercare Systems. Being the primary caregiver for her parents and husband gave Ellie the “”””real”””” experience of having care in her own home. After a decade of caregiving and the death of her husband in 2010 she became even more passionate about her commitment to families and their desire to keep people at home and out of nursing homes. Ellie becomes intimately involved in her clients concerns and challenges. Her understanding and counsel is readily available to each of her clients from their initial home visit through the end of service. Heather Piner, Executive Director, shares her mothers’ commitment to helping folks avoid nursing home placement. She is responsible for staffing and has been successfully matching the right caregiver to the right assignment since 1999. Heather gives each client the same careful attention she gave to her father and grandmother in staffing their needs. Elizabeth Giroir, Ellie’s other daughter, is the Human Resources Director and is responsible for the 15 step hiring process at Eldercare. She manages all reference checking and background screening. She is attentive to their credentials and verifies that they meet all of Eldercare’s strict hiring requirements. Once hired, Elizabeth further assures that every employee remains eligible for employment through their ongoing training, TB testing, and quality assurance evaluations. She routinely visits with families to assure that the quality of care being recieved is the best in the industry.
