Delaware Hospice

Delaware Hospice provides hospice and palliative care to more than 26,000 terminally ill patients and their families. Founded in 1982, it is a nonprofit hospice organization that serves New Castle, Kent and Sussex counties in Delaware and southern Chester and Delaware counties in Pennsylvania. Located in Wilmington, Del., the center offers medical care and pain and symptom management services. Its certified nursing assistants provide assistance with bathing, dressing and changing linen. The center s chaplains provide spiritual counseling and prayers at the request of the patients and families. Its staff also includes adult and child bereavement counselors who offer grief education and support to individuals and groups after the loss of their loved ones. Delaware Hospice is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.
