Clelian Adult Day Care

About Clelian Center Clelian Adult Day Center was established in September of 1988 in response to local community needs for geriatric and respite care of its senior members. While it is under religious auspices, the Center is non-sectarian as well as non-discriminatory. It is designed to serve the frail elderly and impaired adults in a social and health care environment. It is structured to provide programs of therapeutic and rehabilitative value according to individual requirement. The Center provides health-related community living support services as an alternative to 24-hour home care or premature institutionalization. A full range of services is available based on the total needs of each client. Staff, participants’ families, and community agencies function as a team in order to ensure that the program is effective. The Center’s program is designed to meet participants’ needs, whether physical, emotional, or social. Our emphasis is on the inherent dignity and worth of each participant. Our goals are to improve the quality of life for our participants, to promote their maximum level of functioning and independence. Clelian Adult Day Center began with an initial enrollment of eight seniors and presently serves 90 weekly participants. Clelian Adult Day Center is certified by the Connecticut Association of Adult Day Centers as a medical/social facility. The medical well being of each participant at the Center is an essential aspect of our program. Participants are brought to us by Hamden Van, Greater New Haven Transit, or by their caregivers.
