House Calls Physical Therapy

Lynn Whelan is a State of California licensed Physical Therapist who has a reputation for compassion, extensive knowledge and commitment to individualized patient care. Lynn graduated from University of California at Berkeley, was a VISTA volunteer for 2 years and returned to UC San Francisco’s Medical School to obtain a second Bachelor degree and certification in Physical Therapy. Her first five years of practice were at Easter Seal Rehabilitation Center in downtown Oakland as part of a multidisciplinary team treating adults and children. Lynn continued the next 3 years in outpatient orthopedics working with a visually impaired physical therapist developing her tactile skills. She became part of a team assessing worker’s compensation cases in Berkeley working side by side with doctors, claims adjustors and attorneys sorting out the difficult issues that are part of that system. Ultimately, she made her way to Walnut Creek where she resides and has worked for Ygnacio Valley Physical Therapy for many years. While practicing, Lynn has been recruited as a consultant to provide case reviews for Medicare, the California Board of Physical Therapy and State Compensation Insurance Company. Lynn has continued her training and updating her skills through regular continuing education classes before it was even required in order to maintain her license. Lynn’s patients appreciate her calm-mannered approach, her patience, her professionalism and her dedication to achieving timely recovery.
