The Lewis-Mason-Thurston Area Agency on Aging operates offices in each of the three counties with a focus on providing long-term care services for seniors and adults with disabilities. We at the Lewis-Mason-Thurston Area Agency on Aging believe independence and dignity are among the basic rights of all seniors and adults with disabilities. We are committed to: * Supporting people so they may live independently * Coordinating home and community services * Identifying resources and services * Assisting people in accessing services Our goal is to offer quality services emphasizing independence and dignity. The professional staff is responsible for fiscal and contract management, program and system coordination and assisting clients to access services. LMTAAA operates Information and Assistance, Case Management, the Home Care Referral Registry, and the Family Caregiver Support Program in all three counties. The agency also contracts for a variety of services in each community. In addition, LMTAAA staff, board and council members advocate for an effective system of long-term care services, collaborating with policy makers and other social service agencies. Lewis County Senior Center
The Lewis County Senior Center, founded in 1971, offers transportation to medical appointments. The center provides in-home personal care services that include assistance with walking, dressing, bathing and toileting. It offers dusting and cleaning services. The Lewis County Senior Center also provides gift certificates of several denominations. The center publishes a monthly newsletter, Young-At-Heart. It offers opportunities to participate in several activities, such as card playing, choir and exercises. In addition, the center operates a drama club. It provides case management services to senior citizens. The center offers home-delivered and frozen meal solutions. The Lewis County Senior Center additionally organizes trips to theaters.
