Hospice of the Upstate Inc

Hospice of the Upstate, located in Anderson, S.C., offers care services for patients in the final stages of life at The Callie and John Rainey Hospice House or with its home care program. Its complementary therapies include treatments that complement or enhance the traditional medical approaches prescribed by the doctor. The center offers various therapies for chronic and acute illnesses, pain management and palliative care which may reduce stress, relieve anxiety and support relaxation, enhance the immune system, provide coping techniques or have other beneficial effects for patients and family members. The caregivers offer aromatherapy, counseling and emotional support, expressive arts therapy, guided imagery and visualization and hypnotherapy. The Hospice of the Upstate bereavement program provides services to all hospice families for up to one year after the death of the patient. Individual counseling or support visits are also available upon request.

Hospice of the Sacred Heart

Established in 2003, The Hospice of the Sacred Heart works for the social, spiritual, emotional and physical well-being of patients who suffer form life-limiting illnesses. The organization has a work force of 80 employees, including physicians, licensed nurses and support staff members. It is a member of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Program, National Palliative Nurse Association and Wilkes-Barre and Scranton Chamber of Commerce. The Hospice of the Sacred Heart is also a member of the Pennsylvania Hospice Network and the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine. The organization is accredited by the Community Health Accreditation Program. The Hospice of the Sacred Heart is located in Wilkes-Barre, Pa.
