Van Buren House
Van Buren House is a residential care community that offers social services for individuals who are able to live independently. The community features one- and two-bedroom apartments. It provides housekeeping, laundry, maintenance, medication administration and meal services. Van Buren House is operated by McAlester Regional Health Center, which offers diagnostic imaging and inpatient and emergency services. The center provides patient education, medical social, pediatric and skilled nursing care solutions. Its McAlester Regional Women s Imaging Center offers ultrasound and MRI services. McAlester Regional Health Center provides infusion, physical, speech and occupational therapies. The center additionally offers laboratory testing and drug screening services.
Springs Inc
Springs Incorporated is a nonprofit agency that was established in 1986 by a group of Sand Springs, Okla., citizens who were concerned by the lack of community living options for adults with developmental disabilities. Springs operates two group homes where consumers benefit from comprehensive care services. However, the group homes are no longer the focal point of the agency. Springs instead concentrates on serving people through community living and in-home support programs, which provide staff, transportation and all other services necessary to consumers who live in privately owned or rental housing. The individuals served by Springs Incorporated generally have a primary diagnosis of mental retardation and exhibit medical and behavioral stability. Springs Incorporated is contracted with and monitored by DHS and works in conjunction with the Developmental Disabilities Services Division of DHS.
