Barbara E. Cheung Memorial Hospice, owned and operated by the Middlesex County Improvement Authority, is a six-bed facility. It provides hospice care at patient and nursing homes, and assisted-living and senior citizen residences. Its services are covered by various insurance plans offered by Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance firms. The facility has an interdisciplinary team that includes a medical director, nurses, social workers, clergy, home health aides and volunteers. Barbara E. Cheung Memorial Hospice is located on the campus of the Roosevelt Care Center, which is located in Edison, N.J. The Roosevelt Care Center maintains a rehabilitative care center and residence units for the patients of Alzheimer s disease and dementia. It provides speech, occupational and physical therapies. The center also organizes various recreational activities, such as themed parties, games and trips to concerts and community theater productions.
