Hospice Compassus is dedicated to compassionate care, clinical excellence, and providing comfort and support to patients with life-limiting illnesses and their family members. At Hospice Compassus, care is provided by team of health care professionals who are skilled at serving people with life-limiting illnesses. Our family-centered approach focuses on the patient, led by an interdisciplinary team, including a medical director, nurses, social workers, non-denominational chaplains, counselors and trained volunteers. Aimed to enhance the quality of life remaining, our care team works to provide expertise in pain and symptom management and to meet the medical, emotional and spiritual needs of patients and their families. Our goal is to provide the greatest possible comfort and care for those who experience one of life’s most intimate and challenging moments. B J C Hospice
BJC Home Medical Equipment, a unit of BJC HealthCare, rents and sells a wide range of adult and pediatric home medical equipment and supplies to patients. The organization provides walkers, canes, crutches, geriatric chairs, blood glucose monitors, wheelchairs, hospital beds, enteral nutrition, commodes and special mattresses. It offers a range of respiratory products, including oxygen concentrators, apnea monitors, nebulizers, suction machines, air compressors, pulse oximeters and ventilators. Its bathroom safety products include safety bars, transfer benches, raised toilet seats and extended shower hoses. The organization accepts Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance. It provides detailed instruction with equipment deliveries and sales, and each patient and caregiver is fully trained in the use, safety and care of equipment and supplies. BJC Home Medical Equipment is located in St. Louis.
Heartland Hands-Hope Hospice
Heartland Hands of Hope Hospice is a coordinated program of health care which works in partnership with the attending physician’s direction to provide medical, psychological, social, and spiritual services for patients and families coping with life-threatening illness. Hospice includes: Provides care in the home, with a caregiver, or in a nursing care facility where the person is among familiar surroundings. Short-term inpatient backup for the control of acute symptoms which cannot be managed in the home/nursing home is available. May be offered to persons terminally ill with a wide variety of terminal diagnosis including heart, dementia, renal, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), AIDS and cancer. Affirms life by improving the quality of care available for the dying in our community. Offers bereavement follow-up after a significant loss experience. Is provided regardless of ability to pay, thanks to gifts from individuals, organizations, churches, synagogues, businesses, foundations and memorials.
