Island Nursing Home, founded in 1975, is a nonprofit organization that offers a variety of respite, hospice, adult and child day care, as well as expanded community outreach programs. It offers a compliment of services catering to individual needs. The center has a separate 32-plus bed facility for residential care and assisted living and adult day care service. It offers both day and residential services for senior citizens who need extra help with meals, medication administration, physical and social stimulation and daily activities. The Captain Lewis Residence is a residential care and assisted living center overlooking the Kennebec River in Farmingdale, Maine. We are committed to providing outstanding personal care services to our residents. To cater to the varied needs of our residents, we employ a full range of trained professional staff. We work closely with physicians, social workers, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate and monitor each resident’s particular health needs and goals. We accept cash, cheques and long-term care insurance. We are a private pay facility and do not accept Medicaid or Medicare.
