Established in 1895 as The Old Ladies’ Home of Aurora, Sunnymere is a nonprofit, 45-unit assisted living community that provides housing and retirement living services for senior citizens. Its facilities feature screened porches and private rooms with each of its accommodations offering a shared bathroom. Sunnymere provides assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, medication and bed making, as well as morning and bedtime care services. It also offers 24-hour personal support and podiatric services. In addition to housekeeping, laundry, linen, transportation, beauty care and barbershop services, Sunnymere conducts a variety of social, recreational and educational activities. Located in Aurora, Ill., Sunnymere serves the Fox Valley and Kane County.
Bridgeway of Bensenville
Bridgeway of Bensenville is a facility that that offers a range of services to improve the mental, spiritual and physical health of senior citizens. It features one-, two- and three- bedroom senior apartments that are equipped with kitchens and 24-hour security and emergency response systems. The facility also provides dining and several health care services. Bridgeway of Bensenville also features a wellness center, computer laboratory, and card and game room. The facility organizes computer classes, educational lectures, and arts and crafts fairs. In addition, it has a beauty salon and barbershop, as well as offers scheduled bus transportation and laundry services.
