Wasilla Area Seniors, Inc.

It is the mission of Wasilla Area Seniors, Inc. (WASI) to enable seniors living in the Matanuska-Susitna Valley to live as independently as possible for as long as possible. Since 1981, WASI has been serving Mat-Susitna Valley Seniors. Today, WASI programs and services include: the provision of congregate meals six days per week and home-delivered meals seven days per week; 128 units of income based and market rate senior housing; fall prevention; home assessments and modifications; isolation prevention; nutrition education; health screening and information; form and benefits outreach and completion; chaplain services; equipment loan; health promotion disease prevention; computer literacy; volunteer engagement opportunities; senior job re-entry training; referral services; and most recently in home chore and respite services. WASI is governed by a high functioning, volunteer board of directors. We follow GAAP and best practices in the provision of services. We have been recognized for our excellent services and have been voted Best of the Valley in Senior Care for the past three consecutive years.
