The Wilkes Regional Medical Center, also known as WRMC, is owned by the Town of North Wilkesboro in North Carolina and governed by Hospital Operating Corporation. It is a 120-plus-bed facility that specializes in cardiology, medical imaging, neurology, pathology, urology and internal medicine. The center has a staff of more than 900 individuals. Established in 1952, the Wilkes Regional Medical Center also maintains off-site facilities and hospitals. It is accredited by The Joint Commission and offers a radiologic technology program. The center additionally operates The Health Foundation. The Wilkes Regional Medical Center has a cafeteria, gift shop, medical library, laboratory and pharmacy.
