Hospice of the North Shore, established in 1978, is a nonprofit organization that provides medical assistance and hospice care services to patients throughout Massachusetts. Its staff includes hospice nurses, social workers, chaplains and bereavement counselors, home health aides and trained volunteers. The services offered by the organization include respite and pastoral care, pain and symptom management, medication monitoring and deliveries and assistance with bathing, dressing and daily activities. It also provides medication equipment and offers palliative care that includes chemotherapy, dialysis and radiation therapies. The organization provides emotional, social and spiritual support to patients and families. It also has a center for grief and healing that provides counseling and grief and loss recovery programs. Hospice of the North Shore is located in Danvers, Mass.
