Kirkwood By The River Retirement Community

Kirkwood by the River is a nonprofit continuing care retirement community for seniors. It is supported by the Independent Presbyterian Church. Its facility includes more than 70 independent living apartments, over 20 assisted living units, 19 specialty care assisted living units and a 60-bed skilled nursing facility. It offers a variety of services, such as three meals a day, dining room, telephone, dietician consultation, nurse consultant, emergency personnel, transportation, shopping centers, fitness center and exercise classes. It also offers heated outdoor pool, activities and game rooms; library and reading rooms; barbershop, laundry services and massage therapy. Additionally, it offers independent living, assisted living and skilled nursing services. Kirkwood by the River is located in Birmingham, Ala.
